CEC S.A.F.E.
Safety Accountability For Everyone
Sustainable ZERO-Zero Harm
We leverage a web-based Safety Management System (SMS) to manage all safety and health data, including frequent jobsite inspections, detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and employee training records. This SMS provides real-time metrics and a trending analysis of our safety program performance and allows us to focus on the right areas at the right time.
We provide our workforce with the knowledge and ability to identify hazards before an injury occurs. Every employee at CEC has “Stop Work Authority” and may halt any task without retaliation until the risk is abated or applicable safety measures are put in place.
“CEC S.A,F.E is a collective effort, and each employee’s dedication is crucial in making Zero Harm a reality. Let’s work together to foster a culture of safety that extends beyond the workplace and into every aspect of our lives. Zero Harm is not just a goal; it’s a commitment we make to ourselves, our colleagues, and our families.”
— CEC LEADERSHIP
We proactively focus on risk management leading indicators through a number of measures, including:
On the jobsite we use a proven risk reduction method called the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Process. This process gives employees an understanding of how to identify overall risk, human risk and activity risk using specialized assessment methods.
“Going home safely to our family every night is CEC’s No.1 priority. Our company’s leadership understands the importance of employee involvement as the cornerstone of the safety culture and accident prevention programs.”
— Chris Poe, VP Risk Management, EHS
Stop Work Authority (SWA) process is a critical component of the company’s safety culture and operational excellence framework. This process empowers all employees, regardless of their position or tenure, to halt a job or task if they perceive a risk to safety, health, or the environment.
Training regarding the stop work authority process. Employees are trained to recognize hazards and are informed about the procedure for stopping work. Regular communication about the process and shared learnings from stop work incidents reinforce the importance of safety and the company’s commitment to a zero-incident culture.
