Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay, or Rachael Ray would feel right at home at Middleby’s Innovation Kitchen Showroom. Specialty chargrills, blenders … and streaming video feeds.
Middleby’s Innovation Kitchen Showroom provides advanced innovation solutions for cooking, refrigeration and beverage vendors. At its Lewisville showroom, Middleby displays its equipment cutting-edge features to the public, both walk-in and to a growing digital audience. CEC Facilities Group was asked to install audio-visual integration solutions.
“Middleby wanted their showroom to shine as brightly on its virtual video-on-demand service as it does in person,” said Titus Sam, audio-visual business development manager. “With that in mind, we came up with a seemless, intuitive system to keep the show rolling.”
Each station includes 4K displays, video recording equipment, and return-feed monitors so chefs can interact with their livestream in real time. The site also includes a training room, lounge, conference room, reception area, and business offices.
To maintain consistent sound across the showroom floor, CEC created three audio zones for each ascending ceiling level and microphone signal boosters. The team installed intuitive touchpads in discreet locations, and 4K displays used for both digital signage, owner-created video replays and livestreams.
Middleby wanted to maintain the building’s sleek exhibit quality, so CEC skillfully integrated support columns and wiring into the framing. In the main showroom, all wiring/cables were hidden behind the hanging ceilings and open plenum. Color-matching pendant speakers were incorporated into the ceiling recesses. In the training room, CEC custom-built, and painted, ceiling-mounted display supports.
In the ancillary rooms, CEC added high-tier integrated control systems and displays. The training room boasts dual 85-inch wall-mounted 4K displays, two 75-inch ceiling-mounted displays, Crestron 10-inch touch panels, a Mersive wireless presentation system and collaboration device, and a paired projector/screen. The lounge area boasts an 85-inch 4K display and a touch panel, while the conference room included a soundbar, 4K wall display, mini (4-inch) touch panel, and an end-user connection setup port.
All rooms, including restrooms, included occupancy sensors and Cloudbox audio integration.
Middleby opened its Lewisville doors in late 2020. With top-of-the-line audio-visual integration, it has the tools to show the full range of its innovation.
