CEC Facilities led the electrical scope on a 133 MW data center project for Clayco, supporting AI-enabled infrastructure. The team oversaw the installation of cable tray and feeders from medium voltage transformers to more than 90 E-houses, chiller yards, and generators, while also directing the complete electrical buildout for the Water Treatment Plant and Admin and Data Hall areas. Prefabrication strategies for cable tray and feeders were implemented to enhance efficiency, and the skidding of house panels and distribution equipment was managed to improve overall project delivery.
CEC is supporting Amazon Web Services’ $3B data center development in Mississippi by delivering critical electrical infrastructure that powers and enables the facility’s operations. Their role centers on installing and coordinating complex, high-reliability electrical systems, while leveraging prefabrication and modular strategies to accelerate construction, improve quality, and reduce on-site labor demands.
This design-build project upgraded the data center to a Tier III Uptime-rated center, with allowances for future expansion. The scope of work included adding A & B services, 4MW each; medium-voltage service distribution; complete data hall build-out; installation of four, 2MW generators; four 1MW UPS systems; and the addition of a 10,000-gallon bulk storage fuel tank.
